The most awaited and the biggest race in the Philippine Triathlon Scene dubbed as “CENTURY TUNA 5150 TRIATHLON SERIES” ended with a great success last weekend, June 24, 2012. Full-fledged triathletes and finishers discovered the joy and challenge completing all three disciplines while everyone was encouraged to adopt a healthy life style and embrace multisport training and racing.

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE as host venue for 2012-2014 has always been supportive, no wonder it has become a perennial favorite of athletes far and wide, with extremely pleasant and helpful SBMA Staff, generous Sponsor Locators at which PLDT SUBICTEL is one, went an extra mile working with the organizer - Sunrise Event, to make the venue and facilities perfect for a fantastic race experience.

PLDT SUBICTEL, together with PLDT HOME and PLDT SME, provided a carrier-grade WiFi access all over Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center and event transitions for media coverage. The high-speed internet connectivity opened the cloud for unlimited networks, live online streaming and real-time uploading of picture and video captures during the event. To add more fun and appeal to the event, leafleting was interceded by interactive game when tokens were also distributed to participants as simple keepsake.

Competing Triathletes (w/ 600 registrants) swum (1.5 Km) in clean and majestic waters in Boton, where mighty battleships were once moored, surrounded by breathtaking mountains in Cubi that posted another daunting challenge during the bicycled leg (40Km) and ran leg (10Km) along the awesome vibe of car-free route in Binictican Golf-Course.

The race fully lived up to expectations and considered one of the “must do” sport events. With unmatched weather condition, the affair was attended by luminaries in the world of sports, entertainment, media and other sports personalities, top foreign and local triathletes.
